SPRINGTIME FOR ZIRKLE
I don’t usually talk about the Congressional race in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional district, but I can’t let this one go by. Hoosier Access is reporting, and I saw the photo, that 2nd Congressional District candidate Tony Zirkle addressed a gathering of Neo-Nazis to commemorate Adolph Hitler’s birthday.
This guy is nuts, but apparently smart enough to keep the event off his list of appearances on his campaign’s website.
By the way, the event took place in my hometown of Chicago; I hate Illinois Nazis.

South Bend, Indiana — An Indiana Congressional candidate has called for racial segregation and defended those comments after being attacked by his primary opponents and local members of organized Jewry.
Tony Zirkle, a white attorney and former prosecutor in South Bend who is seeking the Republican nomination in Indiana’s 2nd District, told black radio station WUBS that:
“We could have six states that are African American, 44 states white and Hispanic, because I don’t really see much of a difference between the two cultures. Let people vote and let them decide.”
He went on to say that, when one considers crime and out of wedlock births among Negroes, that they are essentially culturally different from whites and in need of separation. He also said that he does not believe segregation is punitive:
“The segregation, when you use that word, it’s a loaded term and many people think about oppressing a people and denying the right to vote. And no one is calling for that type of segregation because that was wrong and I even said that was criminal.”
Zirkle’s opponent in the Republican primary is Luke Pucket, a perennial candidate and owner of a pontoon shop in the district.
